What stays on your device
The entries, titles, saved wheels, results and settings you use on WheelTwirl are kept in your browser’s local storage. They are not sent to us (the one exception is an AI import, below). Clearing your browser data deletes them.
Importing names with AI
When you import a file, it is opened in your browser. If “Clean up with AI” is on, the text taken from the file (or, for a photo or screenshot, the picture itself) is sent to our server and passed to an AI model run by Cloudflare Workers AI, which returns the list of names. We do not store the file, the text, the picture or the names, and they are not used to train AI models. Turn “Clean up with AI” off and the file is read only on your device. Photos and screenshots need the AI to be read.
Shared links
When you press Share link, your wheel is packed into the part of the link after the # sign. Browsers do not send that part to the server, so we never receive the contents of a shared wheel. Anyone you give the link to can see the list.
Accounts
There are no accounts and no sign-up.
Children
WheelTwirl is a general-audience tool that teachers often put on a classroom screen. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
